About Basil Crankshaw

I’m Basil. I write about the parts of building things that are both practical and weird: the CSS that mysteriously works, the tiny refactors that pay rent for years, and the design decisions that are really just opinions wearing nicer shoes.

The Cranking Post is where I keep notes as I learn, ship, and occasionally trip over a semicolon. Expect short explanations, small experiments, and a bias toward clarity.

If you like posts that are more “here’s the idea + why it works” and less “behold my 47-step framework architecture diagram,” welcome.
